Alan and I go way back........all the way back to the days of Portree Primary School (over 30 years ago). As fate would have it, we have both found ourselves living in Japan, for better or for worse. His parents recently visited Japan, and although I had no clear recollection of them, I was interested to meet up with them as we share some common history from the Isle of Skye.
Alan's mother, Maureen, and my mother were friends in the distant past, so perhaps after this recent meeting in Japan, they will find the motivation to meet up again. Old stories were exchanged, and they kindly gave me a couple of gifts from Scotland.
